Do your kids use an ereader?

Posted by on June 20, 2011 – 6:17 am

My husband got me an ereader for Christmas. And I admit, I am in love with this little device. I probably drool over it more than use it with being a busy mom. But still, I keep it close. I typically read more than one book at a time (right now I’ve got three or four I’m really into), so it’s easier to take my ereader than to grab that many books.
And I’m sure it’s going on vacation with me with summer with a few more novels on it.
But the kids haven’t jumped on board as much. Which, I suppose, is a good thing since I don’t have to worry about looking for it – or sharing it when we all want to read.
But, I did download a few books on it for them, hoping when we go on trips we wouldn’t have to lug as many books with us.
I just don’t think it’s going to work out that way yet.
The kids really enjoy playing chess on the device. So it’s not that they NEVER use it.
I downloaded Rick Riordan’s “Throne of Fire” on it for my son. But my son really wanted the hardback and got that for his birthday.
And he just received five other books he really enjoys – Geronimo Stilton. So those will go everywhere with us, too.
My son is 9; my daughter is 6. Maybe this will catch on with them when they’re older?
