Crafty friend inspires fun activity

Posted by on October 21, 2012 – 6:57 am

You may have Pinterest, but I’ve got a friend on Facebook who gives me all the inspiration I need. This fun mom of five is a wizard at doing “themed shirts” for trips to Disneyland or the pumpkin patch.

I took a page from her book this week as I prepared for a cousin reunion in California. And I have purple fingers to prove it.

I can’t remember the last time I dyed shirts. I know my kids have done it in summer camps, so I pulled them in to help. A word of advice: After two or three shirts, kids lose interest! But still, I just jumped in and finished them.

I’m fairly pleased with the result, but next time, I will just use one color per shirt. Originally I was going to put numbers on the shirts that listed the order of the grandkids’ birth, but my daughter had a better idea: Put our ages on them.

Now, what should we do for our next project?
