Just recently downloaded a new camera app to my phone and had a chance to play with it on my way back from an assignment tonight.

The program is called FxCamera and it’s available for Android phones like my G1. I have to say I’m getting more impressed with each generation of cell phone cameras and people’s creativity using the gadgets. If I had won the lottery last night, this would be one of the first cameras I’d buy with my new fortune:
It’s the new full frame range finder from Leica, the M9, that was announced on Sept. 9, 2009 (09/09/09, get it?). What’s the advantage of this camera over other cameras? I wouldn’t call myself a gear head, but I definitely pay attention when a game changer hits the market. For the past few years I’ve had a Google Alert for the Canon 7D (the model that was speculated to replace the popular full-frame 5D). The 5D Mark II came and went yet there was no sign of the much rumored 7D. Until this weekend. My email inbox was full of Google Alerts as Canon announces the 7D.
