Get your Geek Prom tickets before they’re gone

After a long Saturday at Phoenix Comicon next weekend, you might want to get down with your geeky self at the Kids Need to Read Geek Prom.
You can purchase tickets at the Comicon website now for $15, or for $20 at the convention.
That is, if there are any left by then. See, they’ve sold out the last two years. And tickets are gonna go fast.
Doors to the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, 122 N. 2nd St., open at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 26 and the festivities last until midnight. The theme this year …

A Wish With Wings makes 7-year-old cancer patient Batman for a day

Well, this is pretty much the sweetest thing ever:
Texas-based nonprofit A Wish With Wings let 7-year-old Kye, who is battling leukemia, don the utility belt and cape and foil the evil plots of the Joker and the Riddler. The Arlington mayor’s office and police and fire departments also got involved. What a sweet way to make a kid’s day!

NBC orders pilot for <em>Munsters</em> reboot

NBC announced it has ordered a pilot episode for a reboot of The Munsters after receiving a script from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller. According to Deadline, NBC expects the series to air as a special summer or event series.

Pixar releases <em>Brave</em> trailer

Holy Scottish accents, Batman! This Brave trailer has rekindled my faith in Pixar since I turned off Cars 2 immediately after Mater sings the State Farm jingle. The animation studio is back to doing what it does best: Telling stories that are epic, hilarious and heartfelt.
