Local miniature players host charity tournament

On Sunday, November 20th, Warmachine players will gather at Gamers’ Inn and play in the seasonal “Foodmachine” tournament for charity.  Entry fee is 5 cans of food and players can donate more to cheat during play. A coveted custom trophy as well as additional prizes will be provided.
Gamers’ Inn is also accepting donations to the local food bank for nonplayers.  Bring lots of food for the needy and crush your opponents at the same time!

Magic: The Gathering players petition new World Championship changes

On Nov. 2, Wizards of the Coast announced that they would be changing the format of their World Championships from a huge event, to an exclusive sixteen-person tournament. The largest of changes to this tournament include reducing the number of players that participate in the World Championships, leading Magic players to feel that their countries have a smaller chance of being able to participate.
In the new format, the sixteen invited to the new world championships are from these five sources:

Since 1993, Gamers have been enjoying collectible card games with Magic the Gathering, Richard Garfield’s game of spell-slinging action. With millions of players world wide, Magic has dominated the tabletop gaming industry.  After it’s release, a plethora of imitators dominated the market giving players the change to battle in far-away lands, or even in established franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter.
