Colbert Report to feature Middle-earth politics for ‘Hobbit Week’
[media-credit name="© 2012 Comedy Central" align="aligncenter" width="500"][/media-credit]Entertainment Weekly has reported that next week (Dec. 3 – 6) will be “Hobbit Week” on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. Fans of the sharp-witted pseudo-pundit know that Stephen Colbert is a huge Tolkien fan, and he’ll be featuring the stars (and the director) of the upcoming film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, each evening over the upcoming week.
The schedule is as follows:
- Dec. 3 – Ian McKellen (Gandalf the Grey)
- Dec.4 – Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins)
- Dec. 5 – Peter Jackson (director)
- Dec. 6 – Andy Serkis (Gollum)
Rumor has it that Colbert even makes a cameo appearance in the upcoming Hobbit film, but so far no one has confirmed (or denied) that possibility. I guess we’ll have to wait until Dec. 14, when the film opens, to find out for sure. In the meantime, be sure to set your DVR for the dates above and enjoy some hilarious Hobbit fun.
