The creator and principal cast of Babylon 5 were the first guests announced for Phoenix Comicon 2013.


Comic artist Neal Adams helped define imagery for Superman, Batman, Green Arrow, X-Men and many more.


Comic artist and penciller Greg Capullo is known for working on Spawn, X-Force, Quasar and more.


Mike Mignola is creator of Hellboy, BPRD and other works.


Andrew Hussie created MS Paint Adventure and Homestuck.


Vic Mignogna is a voice actor and musician known for his work in anime and video games..


Amanda Tapping is an actor, producer and director who played Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1 and Helen Magnus in Sanctuary.


Kristen Bauer van Straten is True Blood's Pam and Once Upon a Time's Maleficent.


Sam Witwer is an actor and voice artist who's played Davis Bloome/Doomsday on Smallville, Darth Maul on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Aidan Waite on Being Human.


Jewel Staite is well known for her roles on Stargate Atlantis, The LA Complex, and a little show called Firefly.


Teen Titans and Backlash comic artist Brett Booth will be at Phoenix Comicon on Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25.


Comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver is known for his work on New X-Men, The Flash, Green Lantern and Superman/Batman.


Voice actress Tara Platt has been on Naruto, Bleach, Tabletop and tons of video games including Halo and Saints Row.


Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal is known for Prince of Persia, Ben 10, Naruto, Tabletop, Mass Effect and many more.


Author and illustrator Terry Moore is creator of the comic series Rachel Rising, Strangers in Paradise and Echo.

Brandon Sanderson is best known for finishing Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series, The Wheels of Time. He is also known for his own Mistborn series as well as being editor for the semi-professional magazine, Leading Edge. Currently, he teaches creative writing at Brigham Young University.


Comic book artist and musician Arthur Suydam "Zombie King" of Marvel Zombies fame.


Timothy Zahn is winner of the 1984 Hugo Award for Best Novella and author of the Blackcollar series, the Conquerors' trilogy, the Cobra War trilogy and many Star Wars novels including the recent release of Scoundrels.


Comic writer and artist Rick Remender is known for his work on Fear Agent, Uncanny Avengers, Uncanny X-Force and Captain America.


Terry Brooks is author of the Shannara series.


Garrett Wang played Ensign Harry Kim from Star Trek: Voyager and is also going to be in some upcoming movies including Rock Jocks and Alongside Night.

Graphic novelist Christian Beranek's works include Silent Forest, Grimm Fairy Tales, and she's currently working on Unhappy White Girls, Blood and Bones, and the 22nd Century.


Comic book illustrator Norm Rapmund has done work for Image, Marvel, DC and more including Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Supergirl, and Countdown to Final Crisis.


Christy Marx has written scripts for kids' shows and created her comic book series Sisterhood of Steel. She's also writing the character Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld for the comic book revival of Sword of Sorcery.


Comic inker and illustrator G.W. Fisher, known for his work on Shadow Hawk, The Intimidators, Fantastic Four, X-Men and has contributed to the Marvel full torso T-shirts.


Executive Editor and Writer for Zenescope Entertainment, Raven Gregory, comic writer of The Gift, Wonderland trilogy and The Waking.


Comic book writer and artist Michael Allred and comic colorist Laura Allred have worked on Red Rocket and created the comic character Madman.


Fantasy author Sam Sykes has written The Aeons' Gate trilogy: Tome of the Undergates, Black Halo, and the newest release The Skybound Sea.


Author Michael A. Stackpole is well known for his BattleTech and Star Wars books.


Author Cherie Priest wrote the award-winning novel Boneshaker and recent releases Ganymede, Hellbent and The Inexplicables.


Adam Rex has written for role playing games, illustrated stories and has authored many books for children including best seller Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich, Pssst! and Cold Cereal.


Writer, publisher and illustrator James A. Owen created the comic series Starchild and wrote The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica Series.

Gigi Edgley played Chiana on Farscape and also appeared in The Starter Wife, BeastMaster and starred in the Australian show Rescue: Special Ops. David Franklin, Captain Meeklo Braca on Farscape, was also in The Matrix Reloaded and was Brutus on Xena: Warrior Princess.


Actor, writer and producer Dean Cain portrayed Clark Kent and Superman on the show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.


Comic book artist Aaron Lopresti is known for working on Justice League International, Wonder Woman, Incredible Hulk and many more. Currently he is working on Sword of Sorcery featuring Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld.

Comic writer and screenwriter Christos Gage, currently working on the Avengers Academy and X-Men Legacy series.


Don Rosa, writer and illustrator of around 90 Disney stories about Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck among other characters, including the Eisner Award winner, The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.


Jordan Summers, supernatural and urban fantasy author of the Dead World series, and whose latest Atlantean's Quest book, The Dark King, was just released in November.


Science fiction author, Gini Koch, known for her Alien series including Touched By an Alien.


Aprilynne Pike is a fantasy and young adult author whose works include the quartet Wings, Spells, Illusions and Destined.


Fantasy and adventure author Janni Lee Simner wrote Thief Eyes and Secret of the Three Treasures as well as Bones of Faerie and Faerie Winter, with the third book in the trilogy set to be released in the spring.

Two actors from The Walking Dead, Chandler Riggs will be in attendance all weekend and Michael Rooker will be here on Saturday and Sunday.

Comic writer, artist, editor and publisher Jim Valentino is known for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy, ShadowHawk and serves on the board of directors for The Hero Initiative.


Author, screenwriter, comic writer and more, Peter David is known for a 12 year run on The Incredible Hulk, X-Factor, Young Justice, novelizations of Babylon 5, Spider-Man, and most recently Battleship.


Creator of the comic series Mage and Grendel, Matt Wagner also worked on Green Hornet, Zorro Rides Again and The Tower Chronicles among many others.


Comic artist Greg Horn, best known for Elektra, Emma Frost, She-Hulk and cover art for Ms. Marvel.

Phoenix Comicon organizers kicked off the countdown to their 2013 convention in a big way Dec. 5 by announcing that the creator and main cast of ’90s sci-fi series Babylon 5 would be attending.

Phoenix Comicon is proud to begin our guest announcements for 2013 with the creator J. Michael Straczynski and principal cast members of Babylon 5.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Mr. Straczynski and the rest of the cast joining us this year. Babylon 5 was truly a groundbreaking show that paved the way for so many other sci-fi shows.” Says Convention Director Matt Solberg.

Babylon 5 ran for five seasons and includes six made for TV movies. It won multiple awards including: an Emmy for Special Visual Effects and two Hugo awards for Best Dramatic Presentation. Known for being groundbreaking, it was the first TV show to use CGI effects.
