Enjoy Ryan Biggs’ recent report and photos from The History of Video Game Consoles exhibit at the Arizona Pop Culture Experience — it may be your only chance to see the stuff on display. That’s because today we’re getting word the collectibles have been pulled.
Jonathan Simon of the Arizona geek culture blog Lightning Octopus reports that the donors have pulled their contributions, just days after Nerdvana was among a group of media invited to tour the exhibit.
We’ll have more info when it becomes available.

In Apple’s first product launch since the death of the company’s co-founder Steve Jobs, the third iPad was revealed.
And much like the launch of the iPhone 4S, it was kind of a downer.
Its main new feature include a Retina display with 3.1 million pixels in a 2048×1635 arrangement, which Engadget reports is 264ppi, which could be the highest amount of pixels of any tablet on the market. Deep Black: Reloaded is a game stuck between two worlds. To expensive to be truly considered an arcade game but not enough content to be a full retail release either. Deep Black sits awkwardly in the middle, not really sure what it wants to be.

More than a year after an online combat game based on television’s Stargate franchise shut down after years of controversy and possible fraud, and more than a month after I pointed out that assets from that game were still being used to promote gambling ventures, the practice continues.
Does anybody at MGM care how their intellectual property is being used?

Penny Arcade, the long-running webcomic about gaming and gamers, is no stranger to branching out. They’ve got the charity Child’s Play, the annual gaming convention Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) and have even produced a couple of games of their own. Now the site is adding long-form video games journalism to its list of offerings.
In the first week, Penny Arcade Report senior editor Ben Kuchera has presented in-depth looks at BioWare’s expanding empire, Kickstarter sensation Double Fine and a controversial exploration of the culture of sexual harassment in fighting game circles …

In the tech world, one of the most popular and fastest developing trends is cloud computing, and Intel is set on creating the industry standard. Essentially, cloud computing eliminates much of the stress and fatigue that our networks and infrastructure are burdened with. End users (clients, customers, etc) are able to access cloud-based applications via the Internet as if it were “business as usual,” but the real benefits are reserved for the businesses providing the data.
Humanity recently hit a huge milestone. Earth is now home to over 7 billion people. …
