An Enterprise-ing guest list for Phoenix Comicon

In case you missed the news last week, Phoenix Comicon is going to have to expand their parking. Because I highly doubt that even the world-class downtown convention center was built to accommodate a Sovereign-class starship.
Jokes aside, a large contingent of the USS Enterprise-E crew will be beaming down Memorial Day Weekend: Sir Patrick Stewart (Capt. Jean-Luc Picard), Brent Spiner (Lt. Cmdr. Data), Michael Dorn (Lt. Cmdr. Worf), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi) and LeVar Burton (chief engineer Geordi La Forge). These stars of Star Trek: The Next Generation and …

Night club on Main Street? Mesa’s Monsterland set to reopen April 13 — with spirits

Downtown Mesa’s Monsterland opened its doors for the Halloween season last October, with a two-story haunted attraction that consisted of elaborate sets and animatronics, and provided some much needed seasonal work for a slew of local monsters and maniacs. Super Bowl cinema surprises

Super Bowl means super Sunday for the Nerdiverse! Not because of the big game, but because interspersed throughout the gridiron action will be a slew of new movie trailer premieres for your perusing pleasure.
The pre-game show starts at 11:00 a.m. this Sunday, February 5th, on NBC, and I’ve completed painstaking research throughout the inter-webs to compile this extensive list of not-to-be-missed film confections! Chronicle: Creative, but discombobulated

Teenagers find a mysterious alien something that gives them superpowers, and soon they learn that with great power comes great responsibility -– well, sort of. But if this sounds familiar, it’s because the new film “Chronicle” borrows from several different established superhero storylines.

The Woman in Black lacks smack

“The Woman in Black” is an old-fashioned ghost story set in a remote English village at the turn of the 20th century. It is produced by Hammer Films, best known for their stylish B-Movie horror flicks of the ’60s and ’70s, and although this movie has a great Gothic look and feel, it is barely a step above the average Hammer fare.
