ACME in Arizona used to be closely associated with the desert shenanigans of the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote; but a couple of years ago that all changed when the “Arizona Comic Mini Expo” teamed up with Samurai Comics and Free Comic Book Day to create an event that is heavier than an anvil and cooler than any brand’s “Disintegrating Pistol.”

The third annual ACME extravaganza takes place May 3, 2014, at Samurai Comics East in Mesa (NW corner of Country Club Drive & Southern Ave. – just a few doors down from ACME sponsor, Bookmans Entertainment Exchange), and will showcase a plethora of comic book professionals in addition to the Free Comic Book Day festivities.

If you are an aspiring comic book creator, this year’s ACME convention will also provide an excellent opportunity to get some professional feedback on your work by Lion Forge Comics’ award-winning senior editor, Shannon Eric Denton, who will be reviewing portfolios of up and coming artists.

This year’s full roster of ACME’s local comic creators is available at: acmecon.wordpress.com, and you can get a gander at the no-cost comics available for this year’s Free Comic Book Day at: freecomicbookday.com.
