Arizona State University will be playing host to its first annual science fiction and comic book convention dubbed DevCon this weekend in Glendale.

The event will kick off on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the West campus located at 51st Ave. and Thunderbird Rd. Admission is completely free and early registration can be completed via the conventions’ website

Among the festivities planned there will be tabletop gaming, an exhibitor hall, costume contests for kids and adults, and a slew of panels of varying topics from Pokemon to Doctor Who. There will also be organized cosplayer meet ups for different fan groups.

DevCon will take place on Saturday and Sunday, so the programming will change depending on the day. Some of the guests who will host panels over the weekend include local costuming group Arizona Avengers, Time Squad B, Streetpass Arizona, and several ASU professors.
