Six-Gun GorillaOne of the undisputed laws of pop culture science is that: Guns + Gorillas = Awesome! Regardless of which media format this formula is applied to, it’s a fact that an armed ape will amp up the coolness factor ten-fold. Don’t believe it? Then see for yourself at Gotham Comics & Coffee in downtown Mesa on Friday, November 8, 2013, as they host Six-Gun Gorilla comic book artist, Jeff Stokely.

Six-Gun Gorilla is one of the best indie comics of 2013, written by Simon Spurrier and illustrated by Stokely, it’s a marvelous mash-up of pulp western action and imaginative science-fantasy…oh, and did I mention the badass silverback gorilla with over-sized six-guns?

The comic was inspired in part by an anonymously written British serial story back in 1939 and you can read the entire original tale on author Jess Nevins’ (Encyclopedia of Fantastic Victoriana) website.

Jeff Stokely will be signing his Six-Gun Gorilla books at Gotham Comics from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on November 8, and the guys from Gotham say they’ll have back issues of the SGG comics and art prints available for purchase at the event. For more details see Gotham Comics on Facebook or call the shop at (480) 649-3065.
