Controllers and Canvas 2.0 this weekend
For those of you that might have missed out last year, Controllers and Canvas was the culmination of video game celebration through art, costumes, and of course, games. The event is being hosted by Bookmans and will make a return this Saturday at their Mesa location in celebration of National Video Game Month.
Controllers and Canvas 2.0 clearly wants to appease all form of gamer. Some highlights of the event include a showcase of video game inspired art by local Arizona creators, a prop-making workshop for up and coming costumers, as well as a video game costume contest and photo booth on site. Attendees with younger children in tow are encouraged to come, as there will be a coloring contest for the junior video game enthusiasts in attendance.
Along with this, local group FireBase Gaming will be on hand hosting casual gaming setups for attendees to play. The group will also run a video game version of Beat the Geek trivia, where the most brainiest of gamers can enter in a battle of wits, with awesome prizes going to the victor.
Other guests such as the University of Advancing Technology and local charity Pepped Up! will also be in attendance to showcase their causes and work. Controllers and Canvas 2.0 will be reportedly free to enter, and will last from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. For more information, check out Bookman’s official event page here.
