Bill & Ted's Excellent AdventureIn 1989, if Bill Preston and Ted Logan had visited the year 2013 during their epic time-travelling film, “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” they could have partied on while watching themselves at the Cult Classics’ screening of the movie on Saturday, August 17, at Pollack Tempe Cinemas.

Cult Classics is celebrating its second-anniversary by celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the filming of “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” the 1989 movie that was shot in 1988 at locations right here in the Phoenix area, including Mesa Golfland-Sunsplash, Metrocenter Mall, AMF Tempe Village Lanes, Coronado High School in Scottsdale and the Circle K on Southern and Hardy in Tempe.

“We wanted to do something really special for our anniversary, and “Bill & Ted” is the perfect choice with its local flavor,” says Cult Classics event coordinator, Alison Brandt. “Our Facebook page is abuzz with people reminiscing about being an extra in the film, or knowing someone else who was. It’s got people talking.”

Cult Classics founder, the totally excellent Victor Moreno, will be serving up custom art prints and shirts that he’s designed specifically for this show; plus, all attendees will receive a coupon for a free “Polar Pop” courtesy of Circle K Arizona. Victor also has some other local businesses involved, some of which participated in the film, offering fun raffle prizes, including:

  • 4 pack of waterpark passes courtesy of Mesa Golfland-Sunplash.
  • “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” on Blu-Ray, courtesy of Zia Records.
  • Zia Records gift cards and shirts.
  • Bill & Ted swag including shirts, action figures and more, courtesy of Billandted.org.

Cult Classics encourages attendees to come in their favorite 80’s style costume or clothing, or really get in the groove by coming as your favorite historical figure. You can get details, tickets and more information on VIP packages at the Cult Classics website: CultClassicsAZ.com
