New DmC content lets you play as Vergil
Capcom announced today that the next game in the rebooted Devil May Cry franchise, entitled DmC Devil May Cry, will feature add-on content that enables players to venture with Vergil, Dante’s twin brother.
The DLC will be released soon after the retail drop of DmC expected on January 15. The content will be an apparent extra story campaign entitled ‘Vergil’s Downfall’ and will be released on Playstation Network for $8.99 and Xbox Live for about 720 Microsoft points. Capcom detailed that pre-orders of the game made through Gamestop would receive the content for free via a download code.
The series protagonist Dante was a bit of a lone wolf type until the highly-acclaimed Devil May Cry 3 released on Playstation 2. The game served as a prequel with a much younger Dante at the helm and the introduction of his evil (and powerful) twin brother named Vergil as a main adversary. Much like this new content for the upcoming DmC game, the special edition DMC3 also featured an unlockable campaign for Vergil.
Since the success of DMC3, fans have been clamoring for Vergil to be featured more in the series (DMC4 merely hinted at him in the extreme). In this latest reboot of DmC, Dante is featured as a much younger character working alongside his twin brother to stop the apparent destruction of the world.
DmC will be released on January 15 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the trailer for the new DLC below, be advised though, there are some gory-looking monsters in it.
