Voices + The Old Republic = biscuits and gravy: A warning to SWTOR players

Star Wars: The Old RepublicHave you ever heard a voice on the radio, promoting some god-awful-yet-delicious meal or snack, and by the end of the bit you’re seriously considering getting it? Well apparently, it can happen in video games too.

Over the weekend I played the crap out of Star Wars: The Old Republic (like I have been the past few months), and part of it was spent on Tatooine. As I got near the end of the quest line there, I came upon an older looking character that had one of the last quests. I clicked on him to grab the quest, but because I’m a HUGE lore nerd I listened to the whole conversation. Guess what I heard? THE WHATABURGER GUY! You know – the gravely sounding elderly fella who sounds like his dentures don’t quite fit? Yeah – him.

So he’s going through the quest details, and I’m answering the prompt, but I didn’t hear anything about the quest – All I could hear was “go get some biscuits n gravy” followed by “try our fresh, sweet pun’kin pie – for a limited time.”

Now, I’m not much for breakfast: I cook it for the family sometimes on weekends, and occasionally I’ll dabble, but after listening to this guy for no more than five minutes, I almost left the house to make the 25 minute drive to the nearest Whataburger. Almost.

Luckily I resisted, but let me warn you SWTOR fans: he is out there, and he will get you – be careful!

Hopefully, this was a fluke and Bioware didn’t put the QT guy in the game, or we’re all screwed.

Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s Biscuits n Gravy time. Maybe some pie lat – DAMMIT!
