Writer Alan Moore is out. Illustrator Dave Gibbons wishes it well but doesn’t see the need. Nevertheless, DC Entertainment is launching seven linked miniseries this summer that each will center on a specific character from the seminal late-’80s series “Watchmen.”

The Event blues: More about the money and less about the reader

As any current comic reader can tell you, most companies like Marvel and DC shell out annual books that have a universe-spanning story that involves all or most of their major characters. These overgrown story-tyrants have been dubbed Events. In the past there have been moments where this made sense like Crisis of Infinite Earths from DC Comics or Avengers Disassembled from Marvel. A file on a computer can never compare to the good old four-color fun.
Finding favorite comics can be like searching for …

On the heels of New York Comic Con, Cartoon Network has released the complete first scene from Warner Bros. Animation’s Green Lantern: The Animated Series from the producer, artist and animator of Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League.
The stylized CG cartoon launches Nov. 11 with a special premiere that will lead into next year’s regular series that’s a part of the new DC Nation programming block.
It already looks more promising than Ryan Reynold’s live-action blockbuster.
As Earth’s Green Lantern, Hal Jordan is used to being in dangerous
situations ‹ but …
