Morgan reaches a milestone
Lakeside Blue Ridge senior Jordan Morgan, formerly at Valley Christian, scored his 100th career touchdown on Friday night when he returned the second-half kickoff 97 yards against Parker.
Playing mostly at running back and safety this year, Morgan has four touchdown passes, nine rushing touchdowns and two on returns.
Morgan played quarterback, safety and special teams for the Trojans for three years, helping them win a state championship in 2009 until his father, Bill Morgan, resigned and the family moved to the White Mountains, which meant Morgan went from a 2A school (Valley Christian) to a 3A schools (Blue Ridge).
No. 2 Blue Ridge hosts Fountain Hills in the 3A quarterfinals on Saturday night.
According to the AIA state records, the Arizona record-holder is St. Johns’ Shad Bride with 105 career touchdowns from 2006-2008.
