VX Q and A: Jaymee Brugman
Jaymee Brugman is a junior forward for the Desert Vista girls basketball. She averages 16 points, 10 rebounds and two steals per game for the Thunder, who are battling for one of the final playoff spots. Before a gauntlet of games against Chandler, Xavier and Red Mountain this week, Brugman talked about a career with the body, potential fun with Fergie and a star player at BYU.
Class you dread the most: Spanish. It’s really hard to understand and translate.
Career aspirations: I’ve thought about sports medicine, training, knowing the body. I like to know what’s wrong and the body, how it works, what I can do to get better, make others feel better.
Most embarrassing moment in sports: Airballing free throws my freshman year on Varsity. They were chanting and taunting (in the bleachers) but it hasn’t happened since. I’ve made sure of that.
Reality TV show you’d be on: “The Bachelorette”
Song you would sing on American Idol: Probably “I’m a Bee” by the Black Eyed Peas. It’s funny because I want to go on American Idol and make fun of myself because I’m good at impressions.
What would you eat for your last meal: Chicken salad and water. I’m really big on salads.
One food you refuse to eat: Fish.
One possession you can’t live without: Laptop.
Favorite city to visit: New York City. I want to see the city, downtown.
One person you’d love to switch places with for a day: Jimmer Fredette at BYU. He’s really good at basketball and seems like a nice guy.
