Rasmussen suspended Friday
Parker Rasmussen will not be playing on Friday against Red Mountain.
The Desert Ridge wide receiver/defensive back was ejected in the third quarter of last week’s win against Skyline for bumping an official, which means he is automatically suspended for the team’s next game, although the Jaguars were holding out hope that the decision would be overturned.
Desert Ridge disagreed with the referees’ version of events, but the ejection was filed with the Arizona Interscholastic Association, and appeals aren’t allowed.
Desert Ridge athletic director Darrell Stangle said he was notified of the decision via email from state commissioner of officials Gary Whelchel.
Rasmussen has split time between quarterback and wide receiver on offense this season, but is expected to be used mainly at wideout when he returns. Jordan Becerra is expected to take over at quarterback to give the team more of a running threat.

Justice is served and maybe this kid who thinks he is gods gift to coaches will look in the mirror and with his dad realize he is just average and needs leadership skills and self control and discipline in order to be more successful in any role. He is no qb and it is about time someone put him in his place and in the right place.
