Boys hoops championship games set

Several holiday boys hoops tournaments have their championship games today.

Highland faces No. 5 Brophy for the McClintock Holiday Shootout title at 7 p.m. at McClintock. The Hawks defeated Saguaro in the semifinals while the Broncos cruised past Chandler.

No. 3 Desert Mountain and Mountain Pointe will face off in the championship game of the Holiday Hoops Fest at 6:30 p.m. at Boulder Creek. The Wolves knocked off Hamilton and the Pride beat Boulder Creek in the semis to advance. The game will be broadcast on AIA365.com.

No. 2 Mesa is 3-0 at the Under Armour Holiday Classic in Calif. The Jackrabbits have defeated Carson (Nev.), Temecula Valley (Calif.) and Compton (Calif.) Dominguez to make the championship game. Mesa will face off against Mission Hills at 5 p.m. today for the title. Mission Hills features 6-foot-11 forward Kameron Rooks, who has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Connecticut, California and many others.

The VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge doesn’t have a championship game, but No. 4 Corona del Sol and West Hollywood Pacific Hills are the only undefeated teams left in the tournament. They will play at 8:30 p.m. at Mountain View on Cox 7. The Aztecs beat Pinnacle on Friday to make the marquee game. Pinnacle will face off against Churchill (Ore.) at 7 p.m., which will also be broadcast by Cox 7.
