Gilbert interviewing football coaching candidates today
Posted by Kyle Odegard on January 18, 2013 – 11:57 am
Gilbert is interviewing out-of-district candidates for its vacant head coaching position today, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
The Tigers interviewed in-district candidates on Tuesday, the sources said.
Highland defensive coordinator Sammy Johns is a local coach expected to interview, the sources said.
Erich Mach, who coaches at Necedah High in Necedah, Wisconsin, is scheduled for a phone interview, the sources said. Mach is 69-17 since 2004 and hasn’t lost more than three games in a season in that span.
Gilbert is expected to have another round of interviews next week unless a candidate completely wows them, one of the sources said.
