With spring in the air (possibly), a few baseball tournaments have already come and gone, but more are continuing this week.

The 14th edition Desert Vista’s tournament wraps up this weekend after doubleheader games were played last Friday and Saturday.

The last of the games is Saturday (March 2) at Desert Vista H.S.  They are doubleheaders, though no champions are officially crowned in this tournament.

March 2 schedule:  9:30 a.m.:  Desert Vista at Hamilton (Field 1;  Mesquite at Mountain View (Field 2);  12:30 p.m.:  Mesquite at Desert Vista (Field 1);  Red Mountain at Cibola (Field 2);  3:30 p.m.:  Cibola at Hamilton (Field 1); Mountain View at Red Mountain (Field 2)

The Scottsdale Invitational tournament continues this week sporadically after most teams began play last week.

Pool play continues Monday and the championship will be Saturday at 12 p.m. at the H.S. site of the winner of Pool B.

Pool A:  Cactus Shadows, Centennial, Chaparral, Desert Ridge, Notre Dame

Monday schedule:  3:45 p.m.:  Cactus Shadows at Chaparral;  Desert Ridge at Notre Dame

Pool B:  Arcadia, Desert Mountain, Gilbert, Saguaro, Sunrise Mountain

Monday’s schedule:  3:45 p.m.:  Gilbert at Saguaro;  Sunrise Mountain at Desert Mountain

Championship:   Saturday at 12 p.m. at TBD (each at Pool B winner H.S.)

McClintock’s annual Harold Bull Classic tournament also runs this week through Saturday at McClintock H.S.  Teams participating include Dysart, McClintock, Mesa, Perry, Skyline and Williams Field.
