With spring comes track and field meets, duals and invitationals in full-sprint mode beginning this weekend.

First comes the Toro Relays at Mountain View H.S. on Friday late afternoon/evening. Teams competing (boys and girls) are Brophy, Hamilton, Ironwood Ridge, Mesa, Mountain View, Red Mountain, Williams Field and Xavier.

There will be five running events, seven relays and six field events at the meet. Field events begin at 4 p.m. and running events begin at 4:30 p.m.

A couple more invitationals run Saturday:

The Aztec Invitational is running at Corona del Sol H.S. on Saturday.  Here’s the tentative schedule  along with last year’s results.

The annual Desert Classic invite at Queen Creek H.S. begins Saturday morning with finals held Saturday afternoon and into early evening.  Teams expected to compete include Basha, Bourgade Catholic, Canyon State, Desert Ridge, Gilbert, Grand Canyon, Higley, Holbrook, Horizon Honors, Maricopa, Payson, Poston Butte, Queen Creek, Rincon, Sabino, Valley Christian, Veritas Prep, Westwind Prep and Winslow.
