To choose a goalie as Defensive Player of the Year makes as much sense as selecting a punter on a football team as Offensive MVP! Come on use your head! What a slap in the face to the other 10 well conditioned athletes on the field! Ask yourself this question: Could a goalie play (and that means move!) for over 80 minutes a game at a defensive position? AND please don’t ask them to move to mid-field! Again, if you want to have a Most Valuable Goalie award; the do so. But don’t embarrass yourself by selecting the most untalented, unconditioned player on the field as an MVP!
Wow Jim, bitter much!!!! To compare a goalie to a punter truly shows your soccer ignorance. For you to insult the goalie selected on this list as “Untalented and Unconditioned” is extremely childish on your part and again shows how little you know about this sport. If you really are a fan of soccer, you should do all of us a favor and switch sports, because we can do without you!!!!
WOW Jim…I’m guessing your daughter isn’t a goalie. Do you have something against this particular goalie? This list was created from the CUSD coaches based on the performance and statisticts of each player. What do you know that they dont? A goalie is a defensive player. This goalie has played on the field as well. I’m curious, who would be your selection for DPOY? And to call out the keeper position as the most untalented, unconditioned player on the field. This shows just how out of touch you really are.
