ASU baseball using all-East Valley batting lineup

Posted by on March 8, 2013 – 4:31 pm

The ASU baseball team isn’t exactly tearing the cover off the ball — its current slugging percentage of .427 is the worst since 1997, and the school website doesn’t keep statistics further back than that – but the batting lineup is full of familiar faces.

Coach Tim Esmay has seemingly settled on an order which consists of all former East Valley players. He has trotted out the same starters the past three games heading into this weekend’s series against Long Beach State. Here they are, with their current numbers:

Kasey Coffman, Jr., CF (Brophy): .371 average, HR, 5 RBI, .474 OBP, .571 SLG
Drew Stankiewicz, So., SS (Gilbert): .278 average, HR, 6 RBI, .278 OBP, .417 SLG
Max Rossiter, Sr., DH (Highland): .344 average, 0 HR, 5 RBI, .410 OBP, .469 SLG
