Patrick Dunn resigns as Skyline hoops coach
Patrick Dunn resigned as Skyline’s girls basketball coach this week.
According to athletic director Greg Schultz, Dunn stepped down to “concentrate more time with my family and finish my master’s degree at NAU in Educational Leadership.”
Dunn was 38-58 in four seasons at the helm at Skyline, including a 14-9 mark in 2011-2012, his best season at the school. It was the Coyotes’ lone winning season during his tenure, but Dunn was well-respected among other basketball coaches for his efforts and integrity beyond wins and losses.
Schultz said the school will immediately begin taking applications with interviews coming in a couple weeks. The hope is to have a hire made before school begins again Aug. 7.
