Hamilton WR Israel Simpson transferring to Chaparral

Posted by on July 20, 2013 – 10:30 am

Hamilton wide receiver Israel Simpson is transferring to Chaparral, he said.

Simpson has been on the Huskies’ varsity since he was a sophomore. He caught 15 balls for 268 yards and  two touchdowns in 2011 and was a key cog in the offense last year as Hamilton won the Division I state championship (no statistics were kept for the Huskies in 2012). He said he is moving to Scottsdale and into the Chaparral boundaries.

Simpson, who has a scholarship offer from Northern Arizona, was going to be one of the few skill guys with experience returning for Hamilton, but will instead strengthen the Firebirds’ already-dynamic passing offense.

Tight end Trevor Wood and wide receiver Tyler Whiley are both BCS-level college recruits, while Sean Paul Brophy returns after platooning at quarterback a season ago.
