Saguaro adds impact football transfer
The Saguaro football team’s offense was already expected to be the most explosive in Division III with the return of Cal-bound quarterback Luke Rubenzer and elite junior athlete Christian Kirk.
Now another impact piece has been added to the fold.
The Sabercats have picked up wide receiver J.T. Nettleton, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound senior who moved into the area from Washington last spring. He’s a solid baseball player in addition to excelling on the gridiron, and will play both wideout and defensive back for the Sabercats this season.
Nettleton finished last year with 54 catches for 916 yards and nine touchdowns for Poulsbo North Kitsap High. He added 60 tackles and three interceptions on defense and was named to the first-team All-Olympic League.
“He showed up in the spring and it took him about a day to stand out,” Saguaro coach Jason Mohns said. “He’s going to be big-time.”
