DormanSam Dorman won the 3-meter title Saturday in the U.S. national diving championships in Iowa, four days after topping the field in the 1-meter event.

Dorman, a Marcos de Niza graduate, finished with 487.40 points. He earned 96.25 points on his reverse 3½ tuck in round three scored 91.80 points on his inward 3½ tuck in round five, and secured the win with 86.70 points on a front 2½ with two twists in the final round.

“I came into today with a good attitude. I just listened to what Randy (Ableman) told me to do, and I followed through,” Dorman told the Associated Press afterward. “Consistency is one of the hardest things for me, and I was not consistent at all in the prelims and semis. I was really focused today, and I came through. We nailed it.”
