There is something else to MacDonald's resignation. The last four coaching jobs he has been at he did not last more than one football season. Also, as a coach I know that the time commitment he is stating is not realistic. Don't get me wrong, it is a huge time commitment and your family definetely suffers. However, head coaches need to learn to delegate and this was not Justin's strength. He wanted to control all aspects of everything.

Mesquite is going to enjoy having Dustin as their basketball coach. He loves the kids, he loves the game, he will give it his all, and I truly believe he will be an inspiration to the team and a positive influence on them (and not just because he's my nephew!) Congratulations to you, Dustin, and Go Wildcats!!

I write in detail some accurate inside truthful information about the inconsistencies of the AIA and no one knows how to respond! It is very hypocritical to ban the Payson High School Girls Basketball team from the State Tournament over a minor rule infraction in 2007! Now it was 22 young athletes being excluded from the State Track Meet over 45 minutes! No one knows how to respond! Yeah, yeah, they say in Arizona illegal is illegal but that should also pertain to the authoritative power as well!

The AIA sports officials have been cheating on their yearly exams for years. One of the AIA Area Commissioners has been mailing the test and answers out for years to certain officials because it is required by the By-Laws officials must score over 90% to be able to advance to officiate in the State Tournaments themselves! Now what was that about illegal is illegal?

Gary Whelchel himself has refused to follow the By-Laws (14.7) as well. I can verify that, just like I did in court April 27, 2012. See if you speak out against the AIA they manufacture reasons to file a Harassment Order even if they have to commit perjury to do so! Problem is, if the person challenges the order they have to prove what the put in writing! That's hard to do when you make things up for retaliation purposes.

This is America and a person should be able to question authority without a threat of revenge! Is that considered Pursuing Victory With Honor? I don't think so! The problem is Harold Slemmer, Chuck Schmidt and Gary Whelchel are clueless about the definition of Honor! Just because they have a title only means they are to be respected until they prove they are not worthy of the respect!

I think hiring a lawyer to interrogate a highly decorated, honorably discharged Military Combat Veteran like he was a POW would raise some doubts about their competence as leaders? Veterans are very defensive when it comes stereotypes because almost every movie you see and almost every book you read on the Vietnam War, the crazed baby killer stereotype is for the most part victorious! Combat Veterans in Vietnam were there to protect the freedoms of the South Vietnamese, read the history of the war! For Whelchel, Slemmer and Schmidt to set in a courtroom and pretend they are afraid of me because I quoted General Patton is a joke! It is not only an insult to me and every combat veteran but it was an insult to the Judge and an insult to the Judicial System! To think that someone would take up valuable court time for vindictive purposes shows that the three lack maturity to lead a Cub Scout Troupe let alone grown men and women!

I was hoping a responsible journalist from the Arizona would pick up on the AIA's lunacy but I don't think the Arizona has a responsible journalist on staff!

I can only think of what Einstein once said, To punish me for my contempt of authority, Fate has made me an authority myself!

The kids don't stand a chance in this town! I emailed this to their coach and AD and no response. Also, in 2007, the AIA kicked the Payson girls basketball team out of the State Tourney because one girl played in a game the night before she was going to be reinstated to the team. I've made comments about it and Chuck Schmidt retaliated against
me, but it did not work!

On April 27, 2012, I had to go to court to get a Harassment Order dismissed filed by Chuck Schmidt against me for making comments about the AIA not following their own BY-Laws. Not one reporter was at the hearing! I was a sports official since 1996 and I know just about every violation the AIA themselves commit!

For example, the Casa Grande Area Commissioner has mailed out the test answers to certain officials for years. I proved it in court but no Athletic Directer, Coach, Parent or Athlete will act on this! Sometimes I wonder what on earth is wrong with you people?

I have been labeled as a trouble maker, negative and anything you can think of but when the AIA took me to court based on lies, I walked out of there with a victory. I have all the proof anyone needs to show the AIA violates their own By-Laws and I can name the names and the rule violations!

I can show you where Chuck Schmidt committed perjury not only on his complaint against me but also in Maryvale Municipal Court this past April 27, 2012. I think the Athletic Directors are thick in the head because I have been jumping up and down for about two years now. With it hitting a high point when Harold Slemmer, Gary Whelchel and Chuck Schmidt filed a bogus complaint against me for using my First Amendment Rights of Free Speech and still no one will act on this!

I sent an email to the Executive Board for the AIA pointing out that Gary Whelchel violated By-Law 14.7 in the Officials Handbook and still no response from the citizens!

On the officials cheating on their exams, I showed a copy of the Casa Grande Area Commissioner test that I took for him and his brother for years and other violations and the Judge threw their complaint right out! But Richard Obert or Scott Bordow will not write a thing about it! Why?

I can name at least 6 sports officials that cheated on their sports test that led them to officiate in the State Finals! Seems no one is interested? Are you people really that thick?

Maybe Mark Heller should actually go and weatch some of the softball games. He apparently has not been there watching Mountain Ridge beat up on both Gilbert AND Basha. And if he has been there why is he not giving them just a tad of respect - or maybe just a few words in print especially after writing that Basha left the field on Thursday not "particularly worried". How about a little balanced reporting.

Great point!! As a assitiant Lewis never had to teach this, when he played he never takled any one probaly either. If you go to all big programs and succesful smaller schools, I would bet those coaches teach this every day.

no offense but Lewis should have been doing this from the beginning??!! This is not old news when it comes down to needing change but why so long these HC from thew so-called big leagues barely getting to this now. many of us coaches were doing this the right way from day 1 as coaches.

I think it is high time that the writer's take on the AIA relating to the cost factor (and this time) for the fee they charge for BASEBALL.
I walk up to the ticket counter, they say 10.00 for you and your wife and for the children, o'h reduced price 8.00...No thanks, there is no reason the AIA needs to subject all the students for the ridiculous costs. Suggest if the Major League folks can't perform a Community Service and reduce the cost, than let's play all the State Tourney Games with the Power Point #'s determine Home field advantage.
360 ft or what-ever for HR in School diamond does not detract from the game...60 ft -6in. from the Mound, 90 ft. basepaths...Let's go back to the school stadia's and reduce the ticket costs and let's give the game to the School students where it belongs. By the way gas is pretty high, we are in an advanced state of recession, give the parents and students a break....I think the Trib is missing the boat on this ....Where is Bordow......
