From the AIA ……..
Due to the number of AIA football games scheduled this coming weekend (three total) at North Canyon High school and with the forecast of rain, the AIA will be reducing the number of games at North Canyon High School so that only one game will be played at the site on Friday and one on Saturday.

Several of their responses didn’t make it to print, but were no less interesting or enlightening, so we’ll print them here:
Rich Milligan (Apache Junction): “The two thoughts I have are: How was this process easier/better then the previous method used, and how did using computer scheduling reduce travel? I mean are the Flagstaff schools now closer to the Valley? Does no one need to travel …

Higley had an interesting choice to make on Monday night when deciding on its new football coach.
They could have chosen Saguaro offensive coordinator Matt Lewis. He directed an innovative spread offense that helped lead the Sabercats to three state titles in four years, but lacked Arizona head coaching experience.
Instead, the school went with Eddy Zubey, who has coached St. Mary’s to consecutive playoff berths but no winning seasons in his three years at the school. Zubey was at Westwood prior to that.
Lewis landed at McClintock, and arguably, Higley’s program is …
